Common questions
My classic car has no key at all — can you help?
Usually yes. Locks can be read and keys cut to them, or the lock replaced and the set keyed alike so one key runs the car again. Bring the vehicle, or a removed lock, and the make, model and year.
What is the single best thing to do for a work van?
Fit deadlocks or slamlocks to the load doors, and anchor a tool safe inside. Most van break-ins are quick attacks on the factory lock; a deadlock that throws into the frame changes the time and the noise involved, and an anchored tool safe means a successful break-in still gets nothing worth having.
What is ultrasound hull thickness testing?
A non-destructive measurement of how much steel remains in a hull, taken at points across the plating. It is what tells you whether a steel hull is sound, and it is normally wanted before a purchase, before insurance renewal, or before a survey.
Is a ground anchor really worth it?
It is the part most people skip and the part that matters most. A very good chain looped around nothing can be lifted into a van with the bike still attached. An anchor properly set into concrete is what the chain is for.
