Privacy Policy

Boorer Lock & Safe Co Ltd (“we”, “us”) is the data controller for the personal information you give us through this website. This page explains what we collect, why, and how long we keep it.

What we collect

Only what you type into the request or contact form: your name, phone number, email address, and whatever you tell us about the job — which can include your postcode, the type of door or lock you have, and when you would like us to come.

We also record basic, anonymous information about how the site is used (pages viewed, roughly where in the country the visit came from) so we can tell which pages are useful. That is not tied to your name.

Why we need it

To answer your enquiry, quote for the work, arrange a visit and carry out the job. That is our legitimate interest in responding to somebody who has asked us to. Where we hold records of work done, we keep them because they may be needed for the guarantee or for a later insurance question.

Security information in particular

Some of what you tell us is sensitive in a way ordinary contact details are not — which lock is failing, which door is weak, where a safe is fitted. We treat it accordingly: it is not sold, not shared for marketing, and not passed to anyone outside the work of answering your enquiry and doing the job.

Who else sees it

Our website and email are run on our behalf by service providers who process data under contract and cannot use it for their own purposes. We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with third parties for advertising.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not become jobs are deleted within 12 months. Records of completed work are kept for 6 years, which covers the guarantee period and the usual limitation period for a dispute.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of what we hold, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email info@boorerlockandsafe.co.uk or call 01730 858448. If you are not satisfied with how we have handled a request, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
